Paris. Yesterday I was doing something, I don't even know what, and all of a sudden I had a visceral urge to be in Paris. Where it is probably also gray and rainy, but at least it's Paris.

Sandy

Anywhere sunny. Where it stays sunny for more than a half hour every week or two, please.

Ancarett

London would do nicely but for sheer warmth, I'd opt for San Marino, California so I could alternate between soaking in the beautiful California warmth and revelling in the treasures of the Huntington Library.

Hawaii - but only if it is warm and at least partly sunny. But I'm in Northern California and while it's not warm - it's not too bad...

Six months ahead on the book I'm writing!

Even in Southern California you can get down and a small change of pace anywhere does a soul a world of good... Today around 5 hubby grabbed me and the dog and the child and went to next town over (Laguna Beach) to walk in the fog (no sunset tonight). While the child and the doodle raced around we breathed in the misty air, watched the surf and got out of our heads.

Hope you enjoy Poughkeepise.

Laos.

This is not as exotic as it may sound. My husband is there on a business trip - already gone a week and to stay another three weeks.

I miss him.

It would also be nice to have someone take the kids in the mornings sometime so I can get some sleep!

It's not the landscape or the weather that gives me the winter blahs ... it's the culture I am living in.

So maybe a deserted island somewhere would do the trick ....

Laura

big hug, claudia. my husband has a week-long business trip in London at the end of the month. I was debating tagging along with the kids, but it might suck to juggle two kids by myself in rainy, foggy London.

John Salmon

Why go to Poughkeepsie when you could go the Peekskill?

Malnurtured Snay

My cousin went to college in Poughkeepsie and now she lives in Hawaii. Oddly, she hates Hawaii and can't wait to home to Connecticut.

Wendy

My new house! Yes, despite Jane's (Megan's) suggestions to the contrary (which I did take much to heart), we went and bought a house this past week. It's small and it was a bargain and I love it. Can't wait to move.

timna

after being at a loud swim meet all day long, I am just happy to be in my nice, quiet house.

Laura

Go Wendy!! So happy for you. I was so in love with my house for the first year that I carried pictures of the house in my wallet, not my kids.

Wendy

I remember you describing the type of house you have, and I totally get that. We were looking for that kind of house ourselves and even toyed around with the idea of moving into the nearby city to find such a house. Unfortunately, the prices there are even more obscene than they are here in NearbySuburb. Just the way it worked out. We'll enjoy our little ranch.
