This Might Happen in Ohio, But Not America

In between dropping off my beloved computer at the Apple Store (wah! A Thomas CD and an Amy Winehouse CD jammed inside) and trying to figure out childcare on Wednesday afternoons (I hate the world), I've been surfing the political news.

Looks like Obama is starting to take a serious lead, especially in states where the foreclosures have hit the hardest. Florida may go Democrat even without The Big Schlep.

Here's the list of the Senators who voted no on the bailout. Feel free to call them. I just called my congressman to let him know that he better vote yes this time around. I'm sure that I swayed him.

Expectations are very high for the debate tonight. I demand high comedy, dammit. If there aren't at least three or four major gaffs, I'll be sorely dissapointed.

My congressman voted yes. One of my senators voted no, but I kind of understand, and I'm not particularly upset at her. I think there's a progressive reason not to pass this thing, and I especially think that it's important if it's going to pass, the Republicans step up, too. So, I'm not calling the one democrat in our congressional delegation who voted against it, either.

I find your unstated assumption (that the Dems in your state delegation care) sort of alien. If they do care, somebody is probably kicking themselves for not gerrymandering correctly.

Oh, I give them money. I have no grand delusions that they just care about me for my sake alone. But, they are people I genuinely like (I agree with them about as much as I do with anyone else I generally agree with, and they seem like smart people), which is why I give them money.
